I'll dominate 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the two fighters met personally to publicize next month's boxing match.
Ex twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
Despite such comments, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Paul rather attacked former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.
Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, consistently making substantial financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how surprising this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the match is really going ahead.
